Strategic Thinking     Quality Advice     Creative Solutions

  • More than 25 years' experience representing companies in diverse industries including financial, life-sciences, and beverages as both in-house and outside counsel

  • Attorney-at-law admitted to Bar in New York; Washington, DC; Massachusetts; Connecticut

  • LL.M. in Taxation (Boston University)

  • J.D. (Wake Forest University School of Law, cum laude)

  • B.A. in Economics (The College of William and Mary)

I have a unique combination of experience in international trade, international tax and international business operations.

I advise investment management and private equity firms and trust companies on their FATCA / CRS obligations and develop compliance programs to mitigate the risk of noncompliance.

With the same focus on risk mitigation, I also advise companies, executives and boards across industries on developing policies and procedures, compliance programs and compliance training in international related areas such as anticorruption, international sanctions, and privacy law.

Another significant aspect of my practice involves advising small to medium-sized companies across industry sectors on a wide range of international operations issues.  I bridge the stages between market entry and the client’s international presence being significant enough to ultimately merit an in-house specialist.

Prior to starting my law firm, I served as in-house counsel at The Coca-Cola Company and Genzyme Corporation, a member of the Markit|CTI legal advisory team, a Senior Associate with Dewey Ballantine, and a clerk at the U.S. Court of International Trade.
