IRS & HMRC Team up on Whistleblower Programs

The U.S. IRS and UK HMRC are partners in encouraging whistleblowers to alert the two tax authorities to tax evasion in such areas as undeclared foreign bank accounts; failure to file FBARs; hidden assets routed through foreign trusts, foundation structures, financial instruments, or anonymous holding entities in tax havens; money laundering; and transfer pricing manipulation and illicit cross-border profit shifting by high-net-worth individuals and multinational entities.
